Paying for Allswell Therapy With Priority Partners
Therapy is a tool to help you feel more supported, but the process of finding a therapist who accepts your insurance can feel anything but. Allswell was created to provide virtual, trauma-informed therapy for LGBTQ+ folks that's affirming and easy to navigate.
If youβre a Priority Partners member who lives in Maryland, you may be able to access Allswell therapy at little to no out-of-pocket cost. We're here to help you understand what to expect and how to get started with Allswell using your Priority Partners plan.
Does Priority Partners Cover Online Therapy?
Yes, Priority Partners covers online individual therapy for eligible members under Maryland HealthChoice Medicaid rules. For more information about your specific plan, refer to the Priority Partners' mental health benefits page.
About Priority Partners
Priority Partners is a managed care organization in Maryland that provides health care services to Medicaid members. It's owned by Johns Hopkins Health Plans and the Maryland Community Health System, and serves Medicaid, Maryland Children's Health Program (MCHP), and Medical Assistance for Families recipients across the state.
As a Medicaid managed care plan, Priority Partners members typically pay little to nothing for covered services, including therapy. If your insurance card says "Priority Partners," you're in the right place.
How Allswell Works With Priority Partners
Allswell aims to make the insurance process as seamless as possible. We bill Priority Partners directly, so you don't have to manage claims yourself. Before your first session, our team verifies your benefits and provides a clear cost estimate of any costs so you're not faced with any surprise fees.
Our approach is what makes Allswell different from other therapy platforms that accept Priority Partners. Every Allswell therapist is vetted for LGBTQ+ competency before joining our practice, and our trauma-informed model was built specifically for queer and trans people. For general questions about your Priority Partners coverage, reach out to their member services team.
Service areas
Allswell is licensed in Maryland. To receive care with us using your Priority Partners insurance, you'll need to be physically located in Maryland at the time of your session. Your therapist will also be licensed in Maryland.
How to check if your Priority Partners plan covers Allswell
The easiest way is to book a free consultation with our team. We'll verify your coverage and let you know whether your plan is in-network with Allswell before you schedule your first session.
You can also call the member services number on the back of your Priority Partners card and ask whether Allswell is an in-network provider for outpatient mental health services.
What If Priority Partners Doesn't Cover Your Therapy?
If Allswell isn't available under your Priority Partners plan, out-of-network coverage isn't an option the way it is for those with commercial insurance. We'd love to provide care to every LGBTQ+ person who needs it, but not all Medicaid plans include Allswell as an in-network provider.
If Allswell isn't available to you, we recommend contacting your plan directly for in-network provider options or exploring other Maryland HealthChoice managed care organizations in your area, including Aetna Better Health, CareFirst BCBS CHP MD, Jai Medical Systems, Kaiser Permanente, MD Physicians Care, MedStar Family Choice, United Healthcare, and Wellpoint.
LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy Covered by Priority Partners
Finding affirming therapy can be especially difficult for LGBTQ+ folks, and those with Medicaid often face even further barriers to care. Priority Partners covers your therapy regardless of why you're seeking care. Whether you're working through identity-based trauma, navigating a life transition, or youβre just looking for a therapist who truly understands you, your Priority Partners plan can cover it.
Every Allswell therapist is vetted for LGBTQ+ competency and understands the ways identity, trauma, and everyday life intersect for queer and trans people. For Priority Partners members in Maryland, where affirming in-network providers can be harder to find, that access can make a real difference.
What You'll Pay With Priority Partners
Most Priority Partners members pay $0 or a very small copay per session with Allswell. Regardless of how your care is covered, you'll have access to the same Allswell therapists as everyone else.Β
